ICAS 10 was held on 20-23 July at Chiang Mai, in Thailand. This event is the premier international gathering in the field of Asian Studies. ICAS is a platform for representatives of academia and civil society to focus on issues critical to Asia and by implication to the rest of the world. ICAS is an active accelerator of research. ICAS was in Macao on 2013.

For this year, Macao was represented by the Macao Foundation (FM), University of Macau, Institute of European Studies of Macao, the International Institute of Macau (IIM) and the Association of Macau Press in Portuguese and English languages.

IIM was represented by its member, Mariana Pereira, with the presentation of different issues: 
1. "Beyond the theatricalities of the Dóci Papiaçám di Macau: The social role of the community theatre as intangible heritage";
2. "Developments in heritage conservation";
3. "Developments in intangible heritage";
4. "Heritage, postcolonialism and cities".
